Beausejour Gymnos
Gymnastics Club
Moncton's only fully equipped gymnastics facility!
The Beauséjour Gymnos Gymnastics Club is a non-profit organization run by volunteers. We rely heavily on the generosity and dedication of our volunteer parents – their efforts and accomplishments are the backbone of our club.
This year we were able to successfully host the 2008 Atlantic Gymnastics Championships, the first ever Provincial Trampoline Championships, and our Annual Fun Meet. We received very positive feedback from the attending clubs and judges. We could not do this without the dedicated volunteers who give their all for the athletes.
Our athletes had a great 2007-2008 year! Gymnasts participated in the Christmas Claus Meet, Miramichi Invitational, Amherst Invitational, PEI Classic, Butterfly Meet, Provincials, Atlantic Championships in
The Beausejour Gymnos Gymnastics Club was founded by Marie-Paul Savoie in 1971. Marie-Paul had no formal training herself when she stared a recreational club. She started with 10 gymnasts, and used the Beausejour School gym. As the club continued to grow Don Savoie (Marie-Paul's husband) became Marie-Paul's right hand man. In 1984, Nathalie Colpitts took over for the husband and wife team. The club moved numerous times looking for a permanent home. Finally in August 2003 the club moved into the Dud James Arena. Under both Marie-Paul and Don Savoie and Nathalie Colpitts the club has continued to have many successes winning numerous awards. However, the focus remains to provide quality programs for all levels and interests, and differing abilities.
